How your take-home pay is worked out

  2. PhilHealth. 5% of basic salary, shared equally with your employer, on a salary between ₱10,000 and ₱100,000.
  3. Pag-IBIG. 2% of pay up to ₱10,000, so ₱200 at most (1% if you earn ₱1,500 or less).
  4. Income tax. Withheld on what is left, from the BIR's monthly table. The first ₱20,833 is not taxed. See the rates.

Why your payslip may differ slightly

Payroll systems may round differently. If you are paid twice a month, your employer may use the semi-monthly table in the same BIR annex, so a single pay day will not always be exactly half of these figures. The BIR's monthly table and the law's annual table can differ by a few centavos, which your employer settles at year end. We use the monthly table here, as payslips do. Sources and method.
